How to share
1) You: general questions (objective)▾
Purpose of the general questions is to provide you with interesting insights on the "Insights" page of the "Learn" tab,
for example what are the main drivers for happiness. You will find the general questions
by tapping on the "More..." button on the "You" tab.
Your answers to these questions should be
given in an objective way — in contrast to the seven categories (happiness, love, social, etc.), which
should reflect your subjective views.
Example: Q1 asks how much you are maintaining strong social
relationships. Try to compare yourself with other people having the same age, gender and living in
the same country as you do. How do you rank? If you objectively think that you rank higher than 70% of your peers,
then provide 7.0 as your answer. It can sometimes of course be difficult to obtain an objective view how one ranks.
Just go with your best effort. In case you prefer only using integer values from 0 to 10, tap on the 7.0 to switch
between the two modes.
For the category social on the "You" tab however do answer in a subjective way. If you are more of a lone wolf,
but enjoy this actually very much, then you should provide a low score on the objective Q1 question, but a high score
on the social category.
We expect that the answers to these general questions are not changing a lot over time. Updating or verifying them
once per year or even less seems to be a good choice.
Country, year of birth and gender can and should be provided at the top of the general questions. The
more users provide this data, the stronger the insights generated and shared on the "Insights"
page will be.
At the bottom of the general questions you also find your recovery token.
Do write down this token on a piece of paper and store it safely. In case you lose your device,
you will need to restore your account by using your recovery token.
Without your recovery token, your account cannot be restored.
Also make sure that nobody has access to your recovery token since they then could take over your account.
Further down, you find a button to switch between the pure and the full version of ResNet. The full version of
ResNet adds more advanced features like followers, gifts with coins, and coin exchange offers. Read
the whitepaper on dup2016.ch/ResNet for more details about the latter.
2) You: seven categories (subjective)▾
The seven categories — inspired by Maslow's hierarchy of needs — that you can
monitor on ResNet are happiness, love,
social, health, work, wealth, income.
Find below further guidance how to evaluate each category. The overarching principle is that each category
should be considered subjectively and also in a flexible way, for example replacing work by school or
partner love by family love or also by pet love if this is your main source of love. If you feel satisfied
with what you have, if you think life treated you well in a given category or also if you are in a difficult
situation but still enjoy things the way they are, provide a high score.
You decide — separately for your links and the people that follow you — what you want to share by
tapping on for example the average score, the coins or the checkmarks for each category. You could also decide
to not share anything and just monitor others.
In the example above you only share happiness, social, health and the average of these three categories (the
average score 5.3 is shaded and does not show the average across all categories, but only the ones you are sharing)
with the people that follow you. Also, the number of people you follow (6), number of days since your last login (0d) and your coin
balance (10000) is not shown — only the number of links (4). Furthermore, you decide whether you want to share
your history (or just the current category values) and the tags you might have created for changes in your category values.
Note that you can switch to integer numbers for the categories by tapping on one of the category scores.
Happiness▾
Try to quantify the answer to the question "How are you doing?" asked by a person you trust very much. And also think
about more advanced needs like self-actualization. This category is more about medium- and long-term happiness that usually only evolves slowly
over time. And note that there are overlaps with the other categories, where happiness is influenced by some of the other categories.
Do not take it too scientific, but just go with your first gut feeling. You can also get insights from using Wysa, an excellent mental health app.
Love▾
First identify your main source of love, your partner, your family, or could also be your pet. How do
you feel about this relation?
Social▾
Social refers to all your social relationships — excluding love from above to avoid double counting — friends,
relatives, sports colleagues, work colleagues where it is more than just a pure work relationship.
Health▾
Your subjective assessment of how healthy, fit, physically strong you feel.
Work▾
How satisfied are you with your work environment — excluding salary — think about things that matter to you,
work-life-balance, purpose, relationships with work colleagues.
Wealth▾
How satisfied are you with your current wealth. Try not to compare yourself with others. It is about your
subjective view.
Income▾
How satisfied are you with your income. Again, try not to compare yourself with others, your subjective
view is what matters here.
What is the right frequency to change the values of your 7 categories? Well, there might be times when you update them more often,
but usually an update once per week or less seems fine in order to get a good diary-like timeseries of how you are doing.
3) Links▾
Links are the strongest connection you can create on ResNet. Links are the people you care for most and you
bring in a high level of commitment to help them out in case they need you. There is an
upper limit to how many links you can create in order to ensure that these commitments can be fulfilled. At any given point in
time you can only have a maximum of 7 links. You can bilaterally unlink immediately or
wait for 49 days to unlink unilaterally. This can free up space for other links.
However, you cannot have more than 21 links over your lifetime. Note that unlinking and then
linking again counts as a new link. Links are very precious, choose them wisely, they are at the very heart of ResNet.
The image above shows your main dashboard to monitor how your links are doing. Note that you can also create alerts
in the "Messages" tab to notify you of any changes. Your links are ordered by the average score (either the
average score across all seven categories as a white number, or the average score across all categories that are shared
with you as a shaded number). The numbers in the title denote the current number of links (out of 7)
and the overall number of links over your lifetime (out of 21).
Make sure that your links are doing well. Reach out to them in case of sudden drops in any category or overall.
Ask, listen, offer your help, this is what ResNet is about.
By tapping on one of your links you will see all the details that are shared with you. And you can
provide your link with a name. This name is only stored on your device for data privacy reasons. ResNet wants you
to feel safe and protected with and only with your small group of links (and followers in case of using the full version
of ResNet).
In case one of your links did reach out to you, offering help, or maybe also just doing you a small favor, you can and
should send a gift (with coins) as a sign of appreciation. This is crucial since ResNet would like to incentivize
and measure these acts of help.
There are plenty of rules around sending gifts with coins, which aim at creating a long-term stable
incentive framework. There are limits around the maximum number of coins you can send
in a single transaction,
to each unique link (the limit is on the net amount spendings between both, before bonus),
overall over your lifetime,
over the past 365 days.
4) Following (only full version)▾
The people that you are following and are following you are presented on a similar dashboard as your links. There are several waiting rules
when you can add new contacts to follow, for example you can only start sending out your first 7
invites after 0 days. These rules are there to slow down, carefully think about whom
you would like to invite, and these rules also serve as a sort of selection process. You might look up and learn about the
"marshmallow experiment".
Once you are allowed to invite others, you can do so by tapping the plus sign on the "Following" tab (or the "Links" tab in case of using the pure version of ResNet).
This will create a new invite token that you can forward by email, messenger, etc. The symbol on the left allows you to accept an invite token you receive
from someone else.
Finally, there are several actions that you can trigger, like sending private messages, sending kudos, muting to receive alerts
from someone, accepting or rejecting requests to follow, etc. Kudos is the same concept
as gifts are for your links, and you can and should give kudos to someone who offered you help.
5) Messages▾
You can send messages on ResNet if you wish, although you might prefer the usual messengers you share with your contacts.
Tap on "Inbox" to switch to the messages that you have sent.
Tap the bell on the top right to define your settings when you want to receive alerts from your links and the ones you are following.
For example, if the health category of one of your contacts drops by 2 or more points, or if there is a category with a
value below 3. There are several types of messages you might be receiving.

Rules
There are plenty of rules on ResNet, which aim at creating a long-term stable incentive framework for helping each other and thus
increasing our resilience.
Find below all rules and parameters currently used. These parameters are not carved in stone, some of them might
need adaption depending on the speed how fast ResNet spreads and will be adjusted by the app authors, and some of them would be rather up
for votes of the ResNet users.
Invite rules▾
Inviting new contacts to ResNet is done in three waves.
After your registration on ResNet you will have to wait some time before being allowed to invite your first contacts.
Then, after every new invite in wave two, you will again have to wait a certain period of time.
Finally, after a given number of invites, the time you will have to
wait until you are allowed to invite again will increase.

Expiration and further waiting times▾
Invites, following requests and link requests have expiration times. A unilateral unlink request becomes
effective after a given time.

In the spirit of slowing down, there are also several waiting times after sending messages, updating your categories, etc.

In case you are not regularly logging into ResNet, your account will automatically get deleted after some time.
This rule should make sure that users on ResNet remain active and you can rely on them and they can rely on you.
A notification before deletion will be sent to you and your links.

Coins rules (only full version)▾
Finally, there are plenty of rules around how many coins you can spend. These rules try to strike a balance between
meritocratic principles to fairly reward help and at the same time avoiding divergence of the coins distribution. The main incentive — from a
perspective of increasing your coins — is that for every coin transaction there will be a bonus, for example if
you send 100 coins, the receiver gets 110 coins, 10% more. This bonus rewards all transactions (and
thus the corresponding acts of help) and also introduces an inflation in the sense of increasing the average coin balance
of every user. The bonus rate is set dynamically in order to keep annual inflation at a reasonable level of around 2%.
Also, there is a daily bonus of 1 basis points of the average balance (for example, 1 coin if the average
balance is 10000) when you login to ResNet. Note that
the coin ecosystem has lots of interesting economic aspects, like inflation, initial credits, steering of inequality,
basic income, limited possibilities to inherit coins, etc. Every new user of ResNet initially receives the
average coin balance as a credit. Given the possibility to be offered to exchange coins into RNC, a publicly traded cryptocurrency (a token on the
Solana blockchain), it is important to prevent that multiple accounts can be created by a single person. There is a mechanism
built into ResNet relying on unique device IDs to prevent this, however this is no guarantee. An interesting, but also controversial
concept to resolve the issue of multiple accounts is for example explored by www.worldcoin.org. Digital government IDs will be
another option at some stage.

How to choose the right amount of coins if you received big help or also just a tiny favor from one of your links?
As a framing you can use the following guidelines.
1. For a literally lifesaving help use the maximum amount possible according to the rules above.
2. Plan your coin spendings such that in one year you spend (and receive) around 0.2
of your current coin balance.
Basic income is provided to those users where the current coin balance is below the average coin balance of all
ResNet users. For each transaction that increases the average coin balance by x%, the balance of these
users are increased by x%*bir*(average coin balance)/(current coin balance), capped at x%. This means that by doing nothing on ResNet,
the ratio of the current coin balance divided by the average coin balance tends to bir = 0.3.
This number can be considered a measure of inequality on the poor side, while inequality on the rich side is constrained by the limited
number of links and the restrictions on the spendings between each pair of links.
In case the current coin balance drops below bir = 0.3 times the average coin balance
there is an additional daily basic income of 1/365*bir*sr times the average coin balance. All basic income
is credited only when the user logs into ResNet again.
These are a lot of complex rules... See the image below what this will mean in practice, where 250 coin balances are simulated over time.
Using a maximum number of (lifetime) links of 7, a basic income ratio of 0.4, a maximum and suggested spend ratio of 0.25 over 365 days, the blue line at 3.5 denotes
the maximum possible relative deviation of a coin balance from the average balance, the green line at 0.4 is where coin balances converge to if doing nothing,
and the red line at 0.3 = 0.4*(1-0.25) is the lowest level a coin balance can drop to.
FAQ
Who should I invite to ResNet?▾
There are several answers depending on your individual views and intentions.
1. In case you would primarily like to help others, invite those that you care for most or those that might be most
in need of your help.
2. In case you primarily would like that others help you when you go through difficult times, invite those that you
think might be best suited and would be ready to help you. You can also try to think of specific persons for each
of the seven categories happiness, love, social, etc.
3. In case you think more in macro terms and would like to spread ResNet to turn it into a tiny contribution to a
more resilient society, invite those that you think will be most influencial. Do you know people that will probably be
very much inspired by the ideas of ResNet and will make it their own?
Ideally, the people that you invite should be a well-balanced mix of all 3 groups. Furthermore, your inner circle of family
members and friends that you are in touch with regularly are usually not in scope. ResNet aims for the next circle of people
for whom everyday life is just too busy to stay in regular contact. But eventually, it is completely up to you who you
would like to invite.
